Soon, a new estate wine, after reorganisation - with a brand new Domaine du Crêt du Ris ...
The Domaine du Crêt du Ris is situated in the
village of "Salles-Arbuissonnas en Beaujolais".
Situated on the Beaujolais Villages area, in the middle of
Beaujolais, 9 km North-West from Villefranche-sur-Saône,
the
capital of Beaujolais (30000 inhabitants). Not far from Motorway (A6)
and Route Nationale N° 6. Lyon is less
than 30 Km from here.
The cellar is near to the XII th century church and cloister. A world famous clunisien-style roman place.
In the year 960, some monks came from CLUNY and cleared
the
country
around to plant vineyards. They built a priory in the XII th century :
a cloister with delicate and simple twin colonettes and a magnificent
goldstone belfry. Just one part of the cloister remains. In 1301, the
monks were called back to Cluny.
It was in this year that, with the arrival of the Benedictines (young
noble women), who later styled themselves as Chanoinesses
(cantonesses), the building of the Chapter began (XVIII th century). In
one of these residences the Village Council has been
installed.
